Trac\u0327as – Trac\u0327os foi concebida a partir de diversos artefactos e investiga memo\u0301rias, arquivos, relac\u0327o\u0303es de poder, espac\u0327o, modelos de costura e narrativas pessoais. Ha\u0301 dois anos recebi as co\u0301pias em ozalide das plantas arquiteto\u0301nicas da minha escola prima\u0301ria, que pertenceram ao meu avo\u0302, um dos responsa\u0301veis pela sua construc\u0327a\u0303o. Mais recentemente, encontrei os modelos em papel de punhos e golas de camisas, usados pela sua ma\u0303e que trabalhava como costureira.<\/p>\n

As plantas e os modelos em papel tornaram-se motivos para explorar ideologias e relac\u0327o\u0303es de poder e ge\u0301nero, presentes em arquitetura e costura. Tais dina\u0302micas esta\u0303o presentes na minha fami\u0301lia: tradicionalmente, os homens trabalham em construc\u0327a\u0303o e arquitetura, enquanto as mulheres sa\u0303o costureiras ou decoradoras. Recentemente tal foi subvertido pelo trabalho em arquitetura da minha irma\u0303 e pelo uso de te\u0302xteis no meu trabalho.<\/p>\n

Os rastros e trac\u0327os presentes nos artefactos transformam-nos em objetos brincalho\u0303es que atuam como explorac\u0327o\u0303es materiais de esto\u0301rias familiares e pessoais, da minha relac\u0327a\u0303o com o passado, dos objetos em si e dos seus fantasmas que, como trac\u0327as, os va\u0303o comendo e criando espac\u0327o para o aparecimento de algo novo,<\/p>\n

As pec\u0327as apresentadas sa\u0303o objetos meta\u0301licos que citam as plantas arquiteto\u0301nicas e os modelos curvili\u0301neos de colarinhos e roupa, um brise-soleil esqueletal, um brise-soleil textual sobre o meu despertar amoroso durante a escola prima\u0301ria escrito pelo meu marido (Michael Langan), e um biombo que cita decorac\u0327a\u0303o e arquitetura. Como habitualmente no meu trabalho, os materiais sa\u0303o comuns e acessi\u0301veis – madeira, papel, cobre, lata\u0303o.
