Sarah Valente (born in 1988 in Paris) is a French visual artist and photographer.
She grew up in the suburbs of Paris with an Italian father and a French-Ukrainian mother. The natural environment of her home quickly became a major source of inspiration for the artist. The playful wanderings and childhood exploration of the surrounding forests turned into a sincere passion for trees and the forest that is now the main driving force behind the artist’s work.
The meeting with her maternal grandfather at the age of seven in Guadeloupe reinforced this passion, she discovered at his side the first walks in the jungle. The imposing and unexpected force of nature and its invisible world, the link of man with the forest, its spiritual implications, and the role that the plant plays in the evolution of our species become subjects of fascination for the artist.
Her quest is to capture the portrait of this nature, of these teeming forests, of their different aspects and their great richness.
She learns the discipline of photography at a very young age under the tutelage of the visual artist Flore (winner of the fine arts award in 2018).
Sarah Valente is a laureate in 2010 of the International Photography Award of the Bièvre International Fair.
She is currently a resident at the POUSH Manifesto ateliers in Clichy, Paris, France, with 180 visual artists.
In 2021 she founded the Green Line Foundation. The result of two years of reflection on the importance of disseminating information on the protection and creation of new forests in the world.
