Born in Leiria, 1992, he lives and works in Lisbon. He started his Master’s Degree in Architecture, in the Urbanization Specialization Area, at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon (FAUTL) in 2011, when he began to develop his interest in photography. Parallel to his academic career, he developed several projects in different artistic areas. He was part of the educational project, ANEXO of Arquivo 237. He recently started training in the performance area, directed by Tiago Vieira, at Latoaria. He has been developing a work between photography and performance. In 2016 he integrated Ribeira – Primeiros Sintomas’s program with his first solo exhibition titled ‘O corpo sem identidade’. [ Description ] Someone just passed by – everyone passes by. I jump at the fence, almost by instinct. That place pulsed, even in the absence and abandonment. I am seduced by the urban emptiness, the transformation of the potential of a place into an act, the space now vague and forgotten. To have ruin as my place – where the memory has not yet been murdered. Bruno José Silva takes the preexisting void and through his camera documents it and adds another meaning to it. He goes to the place and (re) discovers – looks for and carries the wreckage of a forgotten place, reenquadrates them in a new territory. A possible new place. The object and the shadow create a body, a new sculpture. The process continues.
